Well hello there everybody!
First of all, I want to wish a very happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I feel incredibly blessed and I want to thank everyone for all the support of my music over the years. I hope everyone has a wonderful time this Thanksgiving and that we all can appreciate what we have been given. Here are some great tunes to accompany your holiday: Five tracks that I have been diggin. Florence has a new album "Ceremonials" and it is pretty rockin. She creates such an awesome sound. Only If For A Night: Florence and the Machine If I Had a Gun: Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds…awesome song, great musician. Rest of the album is sounding really good as well. How Come You Never Go There: Feist How great is Feist? Yea, pretty great. I mean come on. Check out her whole new album "Metals". Soul Survivor: Hargo Just caught these guys at a local gig in North County San Diego. They put on a great show and have a great sound. Throw in the fact that they have a solid EP and you’ve got a winning combination. Looking forward to catching these guys around again. Check em out! NEW MUTEMATH ALBUM: The whole thing. It’s called Odd Soul and it’s got a dazzling amount of that fantastic mutemath energy with some killer grooves and beautiful melodies.

Well, it's not exactly weekly, but this happens to be a week where I have so much new stuff I am listening to, I think my brain is going to explode. Let's just get right into it:
1. Foster the People: Whole album is awesome but one of my favorites is Helena Beat 2. New Incubus Album: If Not Now, When: Check out this cool live version of Adolescents 3. Florence and the Machine: New song "What the Water Gave Me" 4. Mute Math: New song off of their upcoming album "Odd Soul" song called Allies 5. New Red Hot Chili Peppers Album! Just go listen to the whole thing. So I have been on a big kick lately, listening to the album "Lungs" from Florence and The Machine. What an awesome album. Here is a link to one of my favorite songs from the album, "Cosmic Love". Also getting into the Brandon Boyd solo effort, The Wild Trapeze and the new single "Runaway Train". Other solo efforts from Killers front man Brandon Flowers include the song "Crossfire". I like that tune as well. Let's see, other great stuff is the new Ray Lamontagne album, although I haven't listened to it through yet, it sounds pretty solid. More updates to come soon, including *gasp* the Balance EP released on itunes. For now, check some pictures from the last rock climbing session at Mount Woodson, my buddy Scott doing some climbing, and a sunset surf session at campgrounds in Carlsbad.
So I would like to start sharing some of the songs that I have been into recently. I'd like to do 5 songs every week or so that I've been really into/listening to regularly. Hopefully I can help spread some tunes. So here it goes for this week:
The Temper Trap: Sweet Disposition Friendly Fires: Skeleton Boy Broken Bells: The High Road The Joy Formidable: Whirring Eddie Vedder: Hard Sun So check them out..hope you like them! Hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend. Got some fun surfing in over the past two weeks, lots of hiking, some microbrew tasting, etc...Been working to finish the Acoustic EP artwork as well. Stay tuned. |
